The short version

InstallCosts has no accounts, no signup forms, and collects no personal information from you. The calculators run entirely in your browser, and the numbers you type are never sent to our servers.

Calculator inputs

Everything you enter into a calculator (dimensions, rates, totals) is processed on your own device. If you use the "Copy link" feature, your inputs are encoded into the link's address so the estimate can be reopened later. That link exists only in your clipboard and wherever you choose to share it; we never receive or store it.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic: which pages are visited and how often. It is a privacy-first service: it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not track you across sites. We see counts, not individuals.

We also record a handful of anonymous, cookieless interaction counts: page views, how far the page is scrolled, whether a calculator is used and produces a result, and which buttons (such as "Copy link" or "Print") are pressed. For each visit we also note the domain of the site that referred you (for example a search engine), never the full address. Together these tell us which calculators are actually helpful and where they fall short. They are plain tallies: no cookies, no device fingerprint, no cross-site tracking, and nothing that identifies or records an individual visit.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like virtually all web hosts, Cloudflare processes standard technical data (such as IP addresses) transiently to deliver pages and protect against abuse, per Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Advertising

The site is ad-supported. When advertising is active, ads are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Changes

If this policy changes, for example when advertising goes live, the update will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
